IDENTITY BRIEF
Highs & Lows is a system of emotion graphics made for use in digital spaces. This project is based on a spectrum of emotions that people experience in the process of healing from heartbreak.
The forms of each emotion graphic rely on abstracted human figures and the environment surrounding them. In the event of a break up, there’s a phenomenon that occurs in which “the air changes around us” and these feelings in the air charge or drain our emotional energy.
In this project, we use blotchy, textural ink drawings to evoke the feeling of tactile media in digital spaces. The system uses color gradients and textures to show different intensities of emotions. Some of the emotions conveyed were extracted from experience and others were based on poses from scenes in Bojack Horseman and Ari Aster’s Midsommar.
